Yale R. Levy graduated from The Ohio State University College of Law in May, 1995, and became a licensed Ohio attorney in November, 1995. Mr. Levy is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar and the Ohio Federal Bar for the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, United States District Court, Southern District and Northern District as well as the United States Tax Court. In 2006, Mr. Levy was appointed special counsel to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office by Attorney General James Petro, and continues to serve in that capacity assisting the State of Ohio in collecting past due obligations. While attending The Ohio State College of Law, Mr. Levy was an Intern at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Ohio for Judge Calhoun.
Mr. Levy graduated Magna Cum Laude from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana with a BS in Accounting in May, 1992. He was a member of the Indiana University Honors Program as well as being a member of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Accounting Fraternity. Mr. Levy was recognized for passing all four parts of the Accountancy Examination his first time taking the examination an accomplishment that occurs less than 10% of the time.
Mr. Levy began his legal career at Pope & Levy Co., LPA, now known as Levy & Associates, LLC, in November of 1995. As an attorney at Levy & Associates, LLC, Mr. Levy has extensive experience in retail, commercial and medical collections, creditor/debtor rights and general civil litigation. Mr. Levy is a frequent speaker on Collection topics to other members of the legal community. Mr. Levy has in-depth experience practicing in Common Pleas Courts, Probate Courts and Municipal Courts located in all of Ohio’s 88 counties. In addition, Mr. Levy is skilled in Appellate practice and has argued on several occasions creditor/debtor rights issues before the Tenth District Court of Appeals as well as filing briefs on behalf of clients requesting certiorari with both the Ohio Supreme Court and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Levy is a member in good standing of the Ohio State Bar Association, Columbus Bar Association, National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA), ACA-Map List, and Ohio Collection Attorney Association (OCAA).
Leighann K. Poplaski graduated Magna Cum Laude from Capital University Law School in May, 2004, and became a licensed Ohio attorney in November, 2004, and a member of the Ohio Federal Bar for the United States District Court, Southern Division, in 2005. While attending Capital University Law School, Ms. Poplaski was an Associate Editor of the Capital University Law Review, an Intern at the Supreme Court of Ohio for Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer, a Certified Legal Intern in the Capital University Law School Legal Clinic, a law clerk at Crabbe, Brown & James, LLP, a law clerk at Franklin County Municipal Court, a participant in the First Year Moot Court Competition and a Teaching Assistant for First Year Torts.
Ms. Poplaski began her legal career as an Associate at Pope & Levy Co., LPA, now known as Levy & Associates, LLC, in September of 2004, and has recently been named Director of Litigation at the firm. As an attorney at Levy & Associates, LLC, Ms. Poplaski has had extensive experience in retail and commercial collections, creditor’s/debtor’s rights and general civil litigation. Ms. Poplaski has appeared in Common Pleas Courts, Probate Courts and Municipal Courts across the State of Ohio. In addition, Ms. Poplaski has experience in Appellate practice and has argued on several occasions before the Tenth District Court of Appeals.
Ms. Poplaski graduated Cum Laude from Franklin and Marshall College in 1999, with a B.A. in Political Science and Summa Cum Laude from The Ohio State University in 2001, with an M.A. in Educational Policy and Leadership.
In addition, Ms. Poplaski is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Columbus Bar Association, Women Lawyers of Franklin County and Ohio Collection Attorney Association. In addition, Ms. Poplaski sits on the steering committee for the YWCA’s Women of Achievement Luncheon Series which provides professional women the opportunity to learn from the experiences of prominent female leaders in the community.
Mathias D. Manner grew up in Mount Vernon, OH, and graduated from Mount Vernon High School. He graduated from the College of Wooster with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. Mr. Manner then attended Capital University Law School. While attending law school, Attorney Manner worked as a legal assistant for Levy and Associates, LLC.
Mr. Manner is a member of the American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, and Columbus Bar Association In 2008, Mr. Manner was licensed by the State Bar of Ohio to practice in front of all state courts and agencies.
Krishna K. Velayudhan was born in Saskatoon, Canada on July 10, 1975. He attended the College of Wooster where he majored in Biology and History while obtaining his Bachelors of Arts degree in May, 1997. After graduating from law school at Capital University Law School, Krishna became licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio in May, 2002.
Krishna practiced in the Collection and Creditor Rights arena at Cheek & Zeehandelar, LLP/Cheek Law Offices LLC. In February 2006, Krishna became licensed to practice in the United States District Court, Southern District of Ohio. Krishna has extensive experience in handling a wide range of collection and creditor related matters, including Fraudulent Conveyances, Replevin actions, residential and commercial evictions along with traditional consumer and retail collection matters. Mr. Velayudhan has also litigated automobile and residential/commercial property subrogation claims Mr. Velayudhan has developed a thorough understanding of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.
Sean M. Winters became an associate in May, 2009. Mr. Winters grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School. Mr. Winters is a 2002 graduate of Ohio Dominican University where he studied and received a Bachelor's Degree in the field of Criminal Justice. He graduated Cum Laude with his Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2009. While attending law school, Mr. Winters worked as a legal assistant for Cheek Law Offices, LLC (2002-2007) and Levy & Associates, LLC.
Mr. Winters is a member in good standing of the Ohio State Bar Association, Columbus Bar Association, and an active member of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. In 2009, Mr. Winters was licensed by the State Bar of Ohio to appear and practice in front of all state courts and agencies. As an attorney with Levy & Associates, LLC, Mr. Winters has had extensive experience in retail and commercial collections, creditor’s/debtor’s rights and general civil litigation.
Jonathan Siegel is the Director of Corporate Development and is highly regarded by his peers and clients as a professional. He attended the University of New Mexico and the University of Arizona pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He has been actively engaged in the debt collection and law firm industry for over fifteen years and offers receivable management solutions to a broad spectrum of credit grantors in a consultative manner. One of the strengths that he brings to the table is his knowledge of the legal process and internal operational efficiencies that drive the greatest net back recoveries to the clients. Jonathan has been involved with the Debt Buyers Association (DBA), National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys (NARCA), and the American Collector’s Association (ACA). He was a member of the Board of Directors and Vice President of the Ohio Receivables Management Association and served on the alumni board for The Gow School. He also participates in a number of other industry specific and non-specific associations. As the Director of Corporate Development for Levy & Associates, LLC Jonathan manages the Cleveland, Ohio office.
Denise Brooks Denise brings more than twenty years of credit and collection experience to her role at Levy and Associates. She began her career in the credit industry in 1986 at Discover Financial Services. She obtained extensive experience in Collections, Fraud Loss Prevention and Fraud Investigations. In addition Denise managed the Attorney Placement Network and Litigation Team at Discover Financial Services National Recovery Center. The expertise that Denise brings to the firm is her understanding of processes and operational efficiencies and her analytical abilities to develop sophisticated performance metrics in order to manage and drive bottom line results on behalf of our clients. Denise received her Bachelor degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and is an active member of (PWCI) Professional Women of the Collection Industry. .
